 NORDHAVN Efficiency
“...Our Nordhavn 68 reaches her
cruising speed at 1,350 rpm while using
just 220 total horsepower”
Nordhavn 68 Owners
Ken and Roberta Williams
Ken and Roberta's new Nordhavn 68, seen here off the San Juans in the state of Washington, was preceded by their first Sans Souci, a Nordhavn 62, with which the
Williamses joined the Nordhavn Atlantic Rally in 2004. Theirs was one of the 18 boats to successfully cross the Atlantic. The NAR whetted their appetite for long
range cruising and they have since gone on to explore the Bahamas, and recenlty went from Seattle to Costa Rica in their N68.
“We first started cruising with our
first Nordhavn, a 62.

ago,” says Ken Williams. “My wife Roberta
and I enjoyed the experience so much but
decided we wanted even more
room for added comfort and to
extend our cruising plans for
many more carefree years.”
So the couple chose the similarly
aft-pilothouse Nordhavn 68.
“We customized much of our
new 68,” said Ken. “Roberta
enjoyed working with our
designer, Scott Cole of Ardeo
Design and we love the way

earlier this year. They’ll start their global
trek next summer departing Alaska, go
across the Bering Sea, wind along the
Aleutian Islands, continue over to Siberia,
and finally head down to Japan.

“One of the things we wanted on our boat was a hot tub. With our
plans to continue cruising for 10 years, we thought...why not.”
